A word from the author
I started writing this book as blog posts while actively co-caring for my dad. I even took a blogging course to make sure I was ‘doing it right’ and to receive feedback from others in the class. After reading one of my pieces out loud the instructor said, “Sometimes you need a little time away to get a clear picture” Indeed. It’s been about seven years since I first took that course and here we are.
The time I spent walking with dad changed how I saw the world, how I responded to impossible tasks, and how I saw myself in this world of impossible tasks.
My deep desire is that by reading this book you find something that gives you an insight or an understanding, a full belly laugh and maybe even a sense that you aren’t so alone in all of this.
Be very well and take exquisite care of yourself.

Read a little sneak peek from the book:
Dad turned to me and suddenly said, “I’m so sorry. I know that we know each other—I just can’t quite place you.”
Looking back, I still don’t know how I managed those moments, those gut-punch questions that knocked the wind out of me. In this instance, I decided to tell him the whole truth. I held his hands and said, “You’re my dad, and I’m your daughter, and I love you very, very much. I don’t care that you don’t remember who I am, as long as you remember the love part.” His eyes filled with tears, he cupped my face, looked into my eyes and whispered, “Oh my.”
